Fake offers that sell you the materials
Some fake offers target people who sew, craft or assemble things at home: "we send materials, you make the items, we buy them back". The catch is that you pay first.
How it usually works
- You buy a starter kit or materials from the "company"
- You're asked to pay for training or certification
- Finished work is rejected for "quality" reasons, so nothing is bought back
- Sometimes you're asked to pay a deposit to unlock better orders
What genuine work looks like
Real clients pay you for work. They don't make their payment depend on you buying from them first.
What to do
Don't pay. Stop replying and report the account. If you've already paid, call your bank straight away and report it to the police or your country's fraud reporting service.
